Análisis del conflicto por la tierra en San Miguel Chimalapas: causas, consecuencias y perspectivas para la resolución 1967-2011

Abstract

Esta tesis investiga los antecedentes territoriales del conflicto en San Miguel Chimalapa, entre Oaxaca y Chiapas, México. Analiza cómo la concesión a empresas madereras chiapanecas para la explotación de recursos, la falta de representación de los habitantes y la intervención gubernamental han generado controversias. La comunidad de San Miguel Chimalapa ha sufrido el impacto del extractivismo, mientras que la región ha experimentado la llegada de grupos tzotziles, tzeltales, zoques y mestizos debido a migraciones forzadas y desastres naturales, transformando la zona en un entorno social, cultural y político heterogéneo, facilitando el asentamiento en tierras ajenas. This thesis investigates the territorial background of the conflict in San Miguel Chimalapa, located between Oaxaca and Chiapas, Mexico. It analyzes how the concession to Chiapanecan logging companies for resource exploitation, the lack of representation of the inhabitants, and governmental intervention have generated controversies. The community of San Miguel Chimalapa has suffered the impact of extractivism, while the region has experienced the arrival of Tzotzil, Tzeltal, Zoque, and Mestizo groups due to forced migrations and natural disasters, transforming the area into a heterogeneous social, cultural, and political environment, facilitating settlement on foreign lands.
